Job Title: Physiotherapist (Band 5)

Job Purpose:
To deliver effective and efficient physiotherapy care to patients, under the supervision of senior physiotherapists, and to contribute to the overall functioning of the physiotherapy service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Assessment and Care:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical conditions and needs using clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice.
  • Plan and implement individualized treatment programs to improve mobility, strength, and function, and to alleviate pain.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary.
  1. Clinical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Utilize a range of physiotherapy techniques and equipment to provide care, including exercises, manual therapy, and electrotherapy.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and skills through continuous professional development and training.
  1. Communication and Collaboration:
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and optimize outcomes for patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, providing education and advice to promote health and prevent injury.
  1. Documentation and Administration:
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in accordance with legal and professional standards.
  • Participate in the administration and management of the physiotherapy service, including scheduling appointments and managing resources.
  1. Professional Development:
  • Engage in reflective practice and seek feedback to improve clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in supervision and mentoring sessions with senior physiotherapists to enhance clinical practice.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Registration with the relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., HCPC in the UK).
  • New graduates or those with limited post-qualification experience are suitable for Band 5 positions.
